For baseball and softball games that are both streamed and scored, once the game has ended GameChanger will automatically create a video clip for offensive and defensive plays. The clips will appear inside the team's player profiles under the Video Clips tab where they can be viewed, downloaded, edited, and shared outside of the app or directly to their Athlete Profile.
The hit clips from the game are also accessible directly on the play-by-play once the game is completed. Hit clips on the play-by-play can be viewed, downloaded, and shared outside of the app. Additionally, staff has the ability to edit and delete clips from directly within the play-by-play.
Note: Any alterations made to a clip by Staff from within the play-by-play will be inherited on the player profile, unless the player or a family member has already modified the clip themselves.
How Automatic Clipping Works
For baseball and softball games that are both scored and streamed, clips will be generated from hits (single, double, triple, home run) and most out types (batter out, double play, triple play, strikeout, etc). The performance of the clips is reliant on a consistent stream and the scorekeeping data provided by the scorekeeper. Once a play is logged we generate a clip off of that data, so scoring in real time is essential to ensure accurate clip creation.

Clip Sharing & Downloading
Clips can be downloaded and shared with friends and family right from the GameChanger app. There are two paths for downloading and sharing clips:

FAQ
What if a clip is inaccurate or misses the play?
The performance of clips is reliant on a consistent stream and the scorekeeping data provided by the scorekeeper. Once a play is logged we generate a clip off of that data, so scoring in real time is essential to ensure accurate clip creation.
If you are experience inaccurate clips, try:
- Ensuring that the scorekeeper on your team is scoring in real time as much as possible. If the scorekeeper scores the play more than 20 seconds after they happen, the clip may be catching some of the next play as opposed to your player
- Try streaming through a WiFi connection as it will be the most stable
- Try reducing your streaming resolution; the GC app streams at 720p as default, but you can adjust that to 480p. The stream may look a bit soft, but you’ll have a better chance of maintaining the stream throughout your event. Please refer to this article for more details
- In the instances where the clip generated does not capture the accurate play, you can edit your own clips using the Video Editing functionality.
Who has access to the clips?
Clip access is based on the Audience Controls the Live Stream was set to. If the game is streamed to players and family only, fans will not have access to view clips from those streams. Only staff, confirmed family and players have the ability to delete clips.
What types of plays generate clips?
Clips are automatically generated for hits and outs. Certain specific outs, like players caught stealing, do not generate automatic clips yet however we’re actively working on expanding to all play types.
I am having difficulty sharing my clip to social media right after download, what do I do?
Different social media platforms have varied sharing restrictions; if you are unable to share directly from the GC app we recommend you save your clip to your local device and edit it appropriately before sharing to social media.
