Staff members of basketball teams can keep track of the major counting stats such as points, rebounds, assists, steals, and turnovers in GameChanger. Through the use of the scorekeeping feature, made by GameChanger, staff members can easily track each play. Non-staff team members will need a paid subscription in order to watch the GameStream or view the team's stats.
How to Score a Game
Follow the instructions below for steps on scoring basic plays and assigning assists and rebounds in your basketball game. You can also follow the tutorial videos for scoring basic plays and assigning assists and rebounds below
1) Schedule a game from the team's Schedule tab or the Events tab.
2) Select the game you'd like to score.
3) Select the Score Game option.
The top row of buttons is for adding points and fouls to your opponent. The buttons below your team's name are for adding stats to your team. You will be asked to attribute each selection to a player on your team, and can also leave stats unassigned. You will be able to edit any specific play by tapping it from within the Play by Play section. The score of the game will update as you input points for your team and your opponent.
Certain scoring actions will trigger an automatic follow-up prompting the scorer to log an additional stat. Currently, the following scorekeeping actions will trigger a follow-up:
- After a shot is made, the app will automatically ask the user who (if anybody) made the assist. Players are not able to assist their own shot.
- After a shot is missed, the app will automatically ask the user who got the rebound.
- Users can specify what type of free throw scenario they are tracking. (1 & 1, 1 shot, 2 shots, or 3 shots).
- All FT shot attempts can be tracked in one sheet and one workflow. If the final free throw is missed, the app will then follow the Missed Shot -> Rebound stat flow.
