Unfortunately, the current version of our scorekeeping app does not have a feature that accounts for coach pitching, but there are a few workarounds that will enable you to score the pitches without adding to your pitcher's pitch count. You can watch a video tutorial or follow the instructions below.
Workaround 1: Simply refrain from recording the pitches thrown by the coaches. Then score the last pitch necessary to complete the at-bat.
Workaround 2: Use the manual override feature from within the game menu once the count reaches ball three in order to have the ability to score the fourth ball for the player without actually walking the batter.
Workaround 3: Create a placeholder player that represents the coach and sub him or her into the game for the pitcher each time that he or she must come in to complete an at-bat. Once this placeholder is subbed in, you can use the Override feature within the Game Menu to reset the pitch count (or just the number of balls) for the at-bat. This override feature will not affect the pitch count of the player. However, once the at-bat is complete, you must sub the original pitcher back into the game.
Currently, we do not track batting stats versus particular pitchers, so stats cannot be split up between at-bats in which a coach has pitched and at-bats where he did not.
